Job: Strategic Plan
Client: Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa | Medical Council of New Zealand
Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa | Medical Council of New Zealand
The Opportunity:
At MSO, we seized the opportunity to collaborate with Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa /Medical Council of New Zealand. The task was to craft a unique cultural identity that authentically mirrored their values and vision. Our team engaged closely with the client, aiming to develop a comprehensive solution applicable across various levels and contexts. This encompassed the creation of a cultural narrative and a visual interpretation aligning seamlessly with the Medical Council of New Zealand’s Strategic Plan.
The Solution:
Our collaboration resulted in a versatile suite of assets designed to amplify the essence of Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa. Central to this solution was the creation of the ‘Te Āraihaumaru’ illustration, accompanied by four motifs and a set of value icons. The illustration unfolds the story of the taniwha, the Defender of Safety, symbolizing the Medical Council as the guardian and protector of the people. The taniwha, swimming beside the reflection of Purapura Whetū in the sea of Tangaroa, guides people safely through, utilising stars for navigation.
The Outcome:
Recognising the importance of a robust visual identity, we are proud to present the outcome of this project. The final result, including the ‘Te Āraihaumaru’ illustration, motifs, and value icons, encapsulates the cultural narrative of the Medical Council of New Zealand. We believe it not only meets but exceeds the goal of representing the organisation in a distinctive and compelling manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
