Job: E-learning Tool Development/Style Guide
Client: Auckland City Council
Auckland City Council
The Opportunity: MSO was engaged to develop an e-learning initiative for Auckland City Council, aimed at deepening kaimahi understanding of te ao Māori through the rich cultural and geographical heritage of Tāmaki Makaurau. The challenge was to create a modern, engaging toolkit that honored New Zealand’s heritage while offering practical, lasting value.
The Solution: We designed a kete (toolbox) of communication tools and resources that guided kaimahi on a journey of discovery within e-learning modules. By focusing on significant cultural and geographical sites in Tāmaki Makaurau, we created a platform for exploring the region’s unique tohu and tikanga. Anchored in familiar landscapes, the tools offered an innovative way to connect with te ao Māori while ensuring the resources were versatile and enduring.
The Outcome: The e-learning initiative has become an integral part of Auckland City Council’s cultural identity. These thoughtfully designed resources not only foster a deeper understanding of Māori culture among kaimahi but also provide a lasting framework for ongoing education and connection with the heritage of Tāmaki Makaurau.
